Living Clean Project - Next Steps
Living Clean Project - Next Steps
The final review and input period for Living Clean: The Journey Continues ended on 31 December 2010.Thank you…
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the members of our fellowship who have shared their experience, strength, and hope with us regarding Living Clean. Members sent their experiences to us via email, on discussion boards, in workshops at local events or conventions, by postal mail and in audio recordings. Your sharing affected the direction and structure of this book. We have received input from members of our fellowship from all over the world. We deeply appreciate the time, energy and effort that members expended in reviewing the last two chapters and preface this fall. The input process has concluded. At this point, the input you provided on the final chapters and the preface will be factored in, and we will prepare the approval form. Again, we thank you for your participation in the process that is bringing this book to life.
Here’s the history of the review and input for the entire book:
•Chapter 1, 2, and the Outline were reviewed between 1 June – 15 September 2009
•Chapter 3, 4 and 5 were reviewed between 1 April – 30 June 2010
•Chapters 6, 7 and the Preface were reviewed between 1 October – 31 December 2010
(The draft material was distributed at least one week in advance for each of the formal review periods. )
Next steps…
The input we received is being factored into the material. The drafts will then be copyedited to ensure the material is coherent and clear. The World Board will sign off on the final wording of the text and the approval form of the book will be published in April 2011.
The vote regarding fellowship approval of the book will take place at the World Service Conference in April 2012. The project plan for this book called for the text to be released for a one year period in “approval form.” It should be noted that the approval period is not a time for additional input but offers us the opportunity to read and consider the proposed text as it stands. The book will have undergone professional proofreading prior to distribution as approval form.
The book will appear as an addendum in the Conference Agenda Report and, as such, will be a part of old business at the WSC 2012. Approval requires a two-thirds majority vote in favor by regional delegates, and if approved, the book will be designated “Fellowship Approved.”
